Volunteers play an important role in the education of our students. ASD encourages parent participation and also welcomes volunteers from local businesses and organizations, community groups and individuals interested in helping support our school.
Each year the New Hampshire Partners in Education and the New Hampshire State Department of Education recognize schools with outstanding volunteer programs. The Academy for Science and Design has received multiple Blue Ribbon Awards for volunteer hours. The volunteers at the Academy for Science and Design logged an average of 4,000 hours per school year which shows how incredibly dedicated to helping ASD our families and supporters are.
Whether it is monitoring a lunchroom, helping with copying, substitute teaching, helping with an after school club, coaching a team, or one of the dozens of other opportunities, it is all important. Research shows that students whose parents are involved in their education have better grades and fewer discipline problems. Involvement at the school also makes it easier to establish friendships with teachers and other parents. We promise that the time that you give to the school will be worth your while – and fun! Contact the school at [email protected] to volunteer or for more information.
