ASD’s unique academic experience is due in large part to the very active parent and volunteer involvement in a wide variety of roles. The school encourages parent participation in all areas of the school’s operation and also welcomes participation from local businesses and organizations, community groups and individuals interested in helping support this unique educational institution.

ASD has been proud to offer numerous 6 to 8 week courses taught by parents and other community members with expertise in a variety of areas both technical and nontechnical, such as Astronautics, Computer Programming, Architecture, Cinematography, and Scottish Dancing.
