Mathematics and Physics form the foundation for many other disciplines, as well as being interesting areas of study in their own right. ASD provides a leadership introduction into these areas, offering fast paced courses starting in 7th grade, enabling students to progress farther and faster during their time at ASD than they likely would have at other institutions. In addition to the initial courses in these areas, the school expects to provide access to more advanced courses including:
  • Calculus
  • Linear Algebra
  • Probability and Statistics
  • Differential Equations
  • Specialized Physics topics, such as Quantum Mechanics
The goal of ASD in these focus areas is to provide students with a logical progression into college majors in these areas, or a strong background to start in an area where these serve as a foundation.

For 2007-2008 ASD offered the following instruction and activities in this area:
  • Algebra I and II courses (see Course Description for further info)
  • Geometry
  • Physics I and II (see Course Description for further info)
  • MATHCOUNTS®
  • Field Trip to Seabrook Station Nuclear Power
