Bio-medicine and Chemistry are areas with high potential to affect the humanity in the
future, particularly in the application of knowledge/technology to a variety of aspects of
biological processes, including human Medicine. ASD expects to offer a variety of follow-on
courses to the Integrated Biology/Chemistry (IBC) sequence that students take in their first
few years. Higher level courses may include:
- Bio-technology, from DNA up through applications of electronics to medicine
- Anatomy and physiology
- Genetics
- Analytical Chemistry
- Organic Chemistry
The goal of this focus area is to provide a strong foundation for a student that
believes they are interested in something related to bio technology, chemistry or
related areas.
