 MISSION

The mission of the school is to graduate well-rounded students with the capacity for high achievement and leadership in their colleges, careers, and society; who have in-depth subject mastery; who have hands-on, real world laboratory experiences; who understand technical and social issues inherent in applications of science and engineering; and who are educated as global citizens to view the world in local, national, and global contexts.

The Academy's unique curriculum includes the following:

  • an internationally competitive academic program
  • physics and algebra, beginning in grade 7
  • biology and chemistry, beginning in grade 7
  • instruction on research techniques integrated into core courses
  • presentations by guest lecturers
  • technical seminars by guest instructors
  • courses co-located with Daniel Webster College, ASD's charter sponsor
  • courses co-located with Nashua Community College, another partner of ASD
  • independent coursework that nurtures students' individual interests in science and technology
  • a focus on in-depth learning
